Description / Scope of Work
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is inviting bids for the procurement of small works under the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor Project (KPEC), a World Bank-funded development initiative supported by a credit from the International Development Association (IDA). This invitation for bids (Notice No. OP00455376, Project ID P159577) is issued by the KP Sustainable Development Unit under the Planning and Development Department and aims to develop economic infrastructure in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The procurement follows the Request for Bids method as per World Bank procurement guidelines, with submissions being accepted in English language only.
Bidders must meet the standard eligibility criteria established by the World Bank for development-financed projects in Pakistan. All qualifying contractors and firms are invited to submit their bids, which will be evaluated based on compliance with technical specifications and financial terms outlined in the tender documents. Interested parties should ensure they possess relevant experience in executing similar works and maintain good standing with relevant regulatory authorities.
Bid documents are available through the official project website at https://kpec.org.pk/ and can be obtained by contacting the project office. Bids must be submitted by July 23, 2026 at 14:00 hours to the KP Sustainable Development Unit, Directorate General of Archaeology and Museum (DGoAM). Interested bidders are encouraged to reach out to Waqar Ahmad at proc.kpecp@gmail.com or call +92 91 9216005 for further clarification and assistance with the bid process.
For Bidders: Our Analysis PAKISTANTENDER INSIGHT
Independent analysis by PakistanTender — not part of the official notice. Always confirm details against the original tender document.
World Bank-funded small works renovation contracts across KPK under KPEC.
Scale appears modest but geographically dispersed across economic corridor zones. Notable: IDA-financed procurement means rigorous compliance demands and English-only submissions; World Bank guidelines typically favor documented prior experience on similar-scale projects. Deadline is 18 months away—adequate preparation time. Contact procurement office early; clarification queries common in WB processes.
Who can bid: World Bank standard eligibility applies—typically requires PEC registration (if construction), valid NTN, SECP incorporation (for firms), and good regulatory standing. Notice does not specify PEC category explicitly. Bidders must demonstrate relevant experience in similar works. Non-Pakistani firms may be eligible under WB open-bidding rules unless restricted in detailed tender documents.
