Description / Scope of Work
The National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi, Sindh, invites applications for training positions in multiple paediatric specialties and subspecialties. The institute is recruiting candidates for postgraduate residency programs in Paediatric Medicine under FCPS-II examination, postgraduate residency programs in Paediatric Surgery under FCPS-II examination, and postgraduate residency programs in Paediatric Medicine under MCPS examination. Additionally, second fellowship positions are available in specialized paediatric fields including Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatology, Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Nephrology, Paediatric Endocrinology, and Paediatric Gastroenterology. Eligibility criteria for FCPS-II Paediatric Medicine require minimum three months house job in Paediatric Medicine from a PMDC-recognized institution or six months experience as a Medical Officer in Paediatrics. Candidates already registered with RTMC must submit a No Objection Certificate from their supervisors and cannot have more than six months additional training. Fresh candidates who passed FCPS-I or those who passed within the last two years are eligible. For FCPS-II Paediatric Surgery, two years of General Surgery training is mandatory, with IMM-cleared candidates preferred. MCPS training candidates must have minimum three months house job or six months medical officer experience in Paediatrics from PMC-recognized institutions. Second Fellowship applicants must have passed FCPS in General Paediatrics with two years post-FCPS experience preferred, subject to availability of paid training slots.
Candidates in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate from their parent institution. All applicants must submit attested photocopies of relevant documents with a duly signed undertaking or affidavit, available at the PGME Office, no later than 30 June 2026 at 12:00 Noon. Submissions should be directed to the Postgraduate Section at NICH, Rafique Shaheed Road, Karachi. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written test and interview.
