Description / Scope of Work
National Grid Company of Pakistan invites sealed bids for construction and completion of civil works, erection, stringing, testing and commissioning of a 500kV Double Circuit Quad Bundle Transmission Line from Tower No. 01 Near Sangal to Tower No. 69 Near Potha Sharif, spanning 23.5 kilometers in Punjab. The project uses ACSR Bunting conductor and forms Lot-I of the broader transmission line development from Sangal to the 500kV Maira Switching Station. This is a substantial infrastructure contract executed through NGC's own resources under National Competitive Bidding procedures as per PEC Single Stage-Two Envelope methodology. Bidding Documents are available from the office of Chief Engineer (MP&M) at NGC's Shaheen Complex in Lahore upon payment of a non-refundable fee of PKR 5,000 via bank draft.
Eligible bidders must be licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council in the appropriate category. Main contractors and joint venture partners must have substantially completed at least one 500kV or higher voltage transmission line (or three 220kV or higher bundled lines) of minimum 11.75 kilometers strung by controlled tension method within the last ten years, with at least two years of successful operation prior to the bid deadline. For joint ventures, the lead partner must meet primary criteria while other partners must demonstrate completion of 220kV or higher voltage lines of at least 5.875 kilometers. Bidders must possess their own tension and stringing equipment with associated tools and critical spares, supported by documentary evidence, catalogues and drawings in good working condition, or provide confirmed sourcing agreements with guarantees to procure such equipment prior to stringing commencement. All bids require bid security as specified in Bidding Data, typically in the form of a bank guarantee from a scheduled bank in Pakistan.

The Pre-Bid meeting will be held on June 15, 2026 at 11:00 am. Sealed bids must be submitted on or before July 1, 2026 at 11:00 am and will be opened at 11:30 am the same day at the above office in the presence of interested bidder representatives. NGC reserves all rights regarding bid rejection as per PPRA Rules 2004.
