For Bidders: Our Analysis PAKISTANTENDER INSIGHT

Independent analysis by PakistanTender — not part of the official notice. Always confirm details against the original tender document.

Vendor is required to supply 16 fire water hydrants and 8 foam/water monitors to PSO's Karachi aviation station.

The contract demands FM or UL certification for monitors, compliance with NFPA 24 and British Standards (BS5154, BS5041) for hydrants, and material test certificates from original equipment manufacturers. Notably, vendor must arrange and demonstrate a sample unit at PSO's designated location at own cost before procurement can proceed—approval is mandatory. All hydrants require witnessed hydrostatic testing. This is a medium-scale procurement with stringent quality, testing, and certification requirements typical of aviation safety-critical applications.

Who can bid: The notice does not explicitly state registration or licensing requirements. Typically, bidders should possess valid registration with SECP (for manufacturing/import entities), active NTN and sales tax registration, relevant PEC category if undertaking fabrication, and capability to obtain FM or UL certification for monitors and conduct third-party hydrostatic testing per NFPA 24. Vendor must also arrange ISO8501-1 surface preparation and advanced coating application.
