The project, headquartered in Multan, Punjab, aims to improve operational efficiency and reduce technical losses in the distribution network. World Bank-financed civil works contract for electricity distribution modernization under MEPCO's efficiency project.

The contract appears substantial, involving infrastructure upgrade works across the Multan region as part of a larger national program. Submission deadline is 23 September 2026, providing moderate preparation time. This is a one-off civil works package within a larger multi-year project, suggesting reliable disbursement through World Bank mechanisms. Bidders should note strict compliance with international procurement standards and World Bank fiduciary requirements; local contractors may face competition from experienced international firms.

Who can bid: Bidders must be registered with relevant Pakistani registration authorities. Typically for civil works of this scale financed by World Bank, bidders must hold valid engineering licenses from PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) or equivalent, maintain active NTN registration, and demonstrate prior experience with comparable infrastructure projects. Foreign contractors may participate under World Bank guidelines with local partnership or representation.
