Description / Scope of Work
Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar invites electronic bids for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) services of two conifer species under the ADP project titled Studies on DNA Fingerprinting of Important Pakistani Timbers for their Identification and Illegal Trafficking Control. The total estimated cost of the contract is PKR 3,500,000, with the project addressing the critical need for genomic identification and authentication of Pakistani timber species to combat illegal trafficking. The work will be executed during the Financial Year 2026–27 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Bids are invited from firms registered with the Federal Board of Revenue for both Income Tax and Sales Tax under the Single Stage – two Envelope Procedure in accordance with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Procurement Authority Rules 2014 as amended in 2022.
Eligible bidders must be duly registered with the FBR for Income Tax and Sales Tax purposes. The original CDR (Certified Demand Draft Receipt) of the bid security equivalent to 2% of the total estimated cost must be submitted in favor of The Forest Geneticist, Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar, before the electronic bid submission deadline. Failure to submit the bid security will result in automatic rejection of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to deposit a Performance Guarantee equivalent to 10% of the contract value and execute a formal contract agreement prior to contract award. All quoted rates must be expressed in Pakistani Rupees and must include all applicable duties and taxes, with statutory deductions to be made according to Government rules.
Bidding documents are available free of cost on the EPADS Portal KP, the KPPRA website, and the PFI official website at https://www.pfi.gov.pk/. Bidders must submit their electronic bids through the EPADS platform by 24-09-2026 at 11:00 a.m., with technical bid opening scheduled for the same date at 11:30 a.m. Only technically qualified bidders will be invited to participate in the financial bid opening.
