Description / Scope of Work
The Directorate General Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) of the Government of Punjab is hiring an individual legal consultant on a short-term basis to provide expert legal guidance and consultancy services for high-profile corruption enquiries and cases. The establishment, an attached department of the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), is currently managing 144 high-profile enquiries and 15 high-profile cases at the directorate general level in Lahore, Punjab. The existing legal wing is overburdened and requires specialized support to ensure proper case pursuit in courts of law and compliance with anti-corruption establishment regulations.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Laws degree (B.A/LLB) with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in law or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with prior public sector organization experience. This is a six-month short-term consultancy engagement, with selection based on interview evaluation conducted by a committee comprising the Additional Director General, Director of Administration and Finance, and Director Legal-I. The budget for this consultancy has been approved and allocated.
The consultant will provide guidance on case registration under Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment Rules 2014, preparation of remand requests, recording of statements under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code, preparation of recovery memos and site plans, drafting of final and revised final reports, ensuring proper preparation of Section 173 Cr.P.C final reports for submission to trial courts, and pursuing ancillary court matters while updating the authority on progress. The procurement method follows Rule 46 of Punjab Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Rules 2014.
