Description / Scope of Work
The National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited (NGC) is inviting public participation in the environmental approval process for the construction of a 500 kV Chakwal Grid Station located on the Jhelum-Chakwal Road in Chakwal District, Punjab. This project requires Environmental Approval as mandated under Section 12 of the Punjab Environmental Protection Act, 2012. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report has been prepared and is available for stakeholder and public review at designated locations including the EPA Library at the National Hockey Stadium (Gaddafi Stadium) in Lahore and the Office of Deputy Director (Environment) in Chakwal.
All stakeholders and members of the general public are invited to attend the public hearing proceedings scheduled for 17 June 2026 at 11:00 AM at Royal Marriage Hall located on Jhelum Road in Chakwal. Interested parties may submit their comments and proposals regarding the project within 67 days from the date of notice publication. Comments should be directed to the Director (EIA), EPA Punjab, Green Building at 27 College Road, Block H Gulberg 2, Lahore, or submitted electronically through the EPA website.
The EIA report is accessible for review at the EPA Library and National Hockey Stadium (Gate No. 08, Ferozpur Road, Lahore), the Office of Deputy Director (Environment) at Chakwal, and the official EPA website at epd.punjab.gov.pk. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the hearing proceedings and share their proposals and suggestions.
