Description / Scope of Work
UNDP Pakistan is seeking to hire a National Individual Consultant Expert on Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience under reference UNDP-IC-2026-138. This consultancy position focuses on strengthening disaster risk reduction frameworks and enhancing community resilience across Pakistan at the federal level. The consultant will work to develop and implement strategies that build local capacity for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery while supporting vulnerable communities in building adaptive capacity against climate-related and natural disasters. The scope encompasses assessment of current disaster risk reduction mechanisms, community engagement initiatives, and the development of actionable resilience-building programmes tailored to Pakistan's specific vulnerabilities and geographic contexts.
Eligible candidates must possess extensive professional experience in disaster risk reduction, community resilience, climate adaptation, or related development fields. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in policy development, project implementation, and community mobilization within South Asian contexts, preferably Pakistan. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with knowledge of UNDP operational procedures and development sector best practices.
