The Regional Directorate of Food, Karachi Region invites sealed tenders for fumigation of wheat stocks and spraying of godowns against flying and creeping insects and rodents across the Karachi region. The tender covers treatment of approximately 180,000 metric tons of wheat stocks stored in government godowns at SGG-I, II and III, Landhi, and privately hired godowns in Karachi, with potential for inclusion of additional locations during the contract validity period. The successful bidder must complete fumigation work within two weeks per store using registered, government-approved pesticides and chemicals, with all equipment removed upon job completion to provide immediate access to wheat commodity. Tenderers must submit technical and financial proposals in separate sealed envelopes and hold a valid license from the Plant Protection Department to conduct fumigation operations.
Eligible bidders must demonstrate relevant fumigation experience with provincial Food Department or federal organizations such as PASSCO or TCP, and submit complete cost breakup with no additional charges beyond those specified in the offer. The bid security requirement is Rs. 2,000 (non-refundable), and all rates must be quoted per metric ton of wheat including jute bags on a gross weight basis, fully inclusive of materials, labour, transport, and personnel accommodation. Bidders must apply minimum doses of 3 tablets per cubic meter of aluminum phosphide for under-sheet fumigation or 80 grams of Methyl Bromide per cubic meter, and ensure three spray cycles at two-month intervals with nine months post-fumigation stock safety guarantee.
Bid documents are available from the Assistant Accounts Officer at the Regional Directorate office in Karachi. Sealed tenders must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on 23 July 2026, with opening scheduled for 2:30 p.m. the same day. The offer remains valid for 90 days from tender opening and is extendable by the Procuring Authority under SPPRA Rules. Payments shall be made upon satisfactory completion endorsed by a regional inspection committee, with successful bidders required to pay Rs. 10 per tone to PARC as supervision charges deducted from final bills. The Food Department reserves the right to withdraw the contract if the successful bidder fails to meet capacity requirements or service delivery timelines.
