Description / Scope of Work
The Higher Education Commission Pakistan is conducting the Law Admission Test (LAT) for admission to the LLB Degree Programme in Pakistani universities and institutions affiliated with HEC. This is a standardized entrance examination for undergraduate law degree programmes offered by recognized public or private universities and institutions with valid affiliation to public sector universities. The test is being conducted in compliance with directions of the Honorable Supreme Court vide its Order dated May 13, 2008 and subsequent order dated August 21, 2008 passed in CPLA/2002. The LAT will be held on Sunday, September 06, 2026, across the Federal and all provincial territories of Pakistan.
Eligible candidates must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent examinations with 60 years education or hold equivalent qualifications and await their results at the time of application. The test follows a structured pattern with total marks of 100 and passing marks of 50, divided across multiple sections including essay writing in English or Urdu (15 marks), English comprehension (10 marks), MCQs in English, Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Urdu and Mathematics (totaling 75 marks), with vocabulary and basic mathematics components included.
Online registration for the Law Admission Test opened on Monday, August 10, 2026 through https://lat.hec.gov.pk. Candidates must submit applications after completing online registration with required documentation including CNIC or passport data, ensuring no discrepancies between CNIC and application information.
