Description / Scope of Work
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan is seeking an expert consultant to prepare a Biodiversity Finance Plan (BFP) under individual contractor procurement process UNDP-IC-2026-128. The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive biodiversity finance plan, with assignment duration of six months encompassing 60 working days. The consultant will be home-based with required travel to Islamabad and various provinces for consultations and validation workshops. The scope includes conducting financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, and developing actionable recommendations for biodiversity financing mechanisms in Pakistan. All travel, meeting, and logistic costs must be included in the financial proposal, with UNDP bearing only unforeseen travel expenses subject to approval.
Eligibility criteria require demonstrated expertise in biodiversity finance, conservation planning, and financial analysis with proven experience in similar assignments preferably in South Asian context. The consultant must have strong analytical skills, knowledge of international biodiversity conventions, and ability to work with government and non-government stakeholders. Required qualifications should be documented through relevant certifications, previous project reports, and professional references.
