Description / Scope of Work
The Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Lahore Region invites electronic bids for the supply of dietary articles to multiple jails across the Lahore region for the financial year 2026-27. The tender covers essential food items including halal chicken, eggs, vegetables, spices, ice, and prepared items such as samosas on a jail gate delivery basis. The procurement is valued at several crore rupees across nine facilities: Central Jail Lahore, District Jail Lahore, Central Jail Gujranwala, District Jail Sheikhupura, District Jail Kasur, District Jail Sialkot, District Jail Hafizabad, District Jail Narowal, and Sub Jail Pindi Bhattian. This is a multi-item tender with specific quantities and estimated costs itemized for each jail facility in Punjab.
Eligibility is restricted to firms and contractors registered with the Prisons Department and PPRA website, engaged in food trading, and currently registered with relevant authorities including Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Punjab Sales Tax. Bidders must submit a 2% bid security in the form of CDR, Demand Draft, or Pay Order made in favor of the concerned Superintendent Jail. All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the contractor. The successful bidder will be required to deposit a 5% performance guarantee of the contract amount under PPRA Rule-56 in the form of CDR, Demand Draft, or Pay Order prior to contract execution. Bid validity shall be 90 days from submission.
Bidding documents are available immediately from the PPRA website and E-PADS portal for download at no cost. Electronic bids must be submitted through the e-Procurement System (E-Pak Acquisition Disposal System EPADS) at www.punjab.eprocure.gov.pk on 29.06.2026 by 11:00 AM, with opening scheduled for 11:30 AM the same day. The tender follows single stage two envelope procedures as prescribed under Rule 38(2)(a) of Punjab Procurement Rules 2014. All CDRs must be physically submitted to the Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Lahore Region at Link Jail Road, Shadman near Tollinton Market, Lahore before the E-Procurement closure time.
