Description / Scope of Work
The Government of Sindh, Local Government & HTP Department has issued a notification constituting a Procurement Committee for Town Municipal Corporation Saddar, District South, Karachi under Rule-7 & 8 of the SPPRA Rules, 2010 (Amended up to date). The committee has been established with the approval of the Competent Authority to oversee procurement activities for the M&E Department of TMC Saddar. This notification is issued from Karachi and sets out the official composition and delegated authority for managing tender processes and contract awards.
The Procurement Committee comprises three members: the Superintending Engineer (M&E) from TMC Saddar serving as Chairman, the Executive Engineer (M&E) from TMC Saddar as Member, and the Executive Engineer from the Rural Development Department as Member. The committee operates under Section 7 & 8 of SPPRA-2010 with clearly defined functions and responsibilities for managing procurement processes in the municipality.
The committee is responsible for preparing bidding documents, conducting technical and financial evaluations of bids, preparing comprehensive evaluation reports in accordance with Rule-45 of SPPRA 2010, making recommendations for contract awards to the competent authority, and performing other ancillary functions as required. The notification provides a structured framework for transparent and efficient procurement management at TMC Saddar, ensuring compliance with applicable procurement regulations and promoting accountability in public procurement processes.
