Description / Scope of Work
Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) invites sealed competitive bids for the provision of water supply connections in Block A and Block F (Phase III) for FDA City in Faisalabad, Punjab. The estimated cost of work is Rs. 3,460,592 with a contract period of 12 months. The scope includes excavation of trenches for water supply pipelines up to 5 feet depth, supply and laying of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE-100) pipes in various diameters (160mm 6-inch, 110mm 4-inch, and 90mm 3-inch), installation of polyethylene pipe fittings and accessories, water service connections using 25mm polyethylene pipe with brass fittings, and horizontal boring for pipe insertion. The work shall be executed in accordance with relevant technical specifications and approved manufacturers' standards as directed by the engineer in charge.
Bid security of Rs. 173,029 (5 percent of estimated cost) is mandatory. Bidders must quote rates according to PPRA rules and ensure all columns in the bid schedule are completed; any blank columns will result in bid rejection. Contractors must hold appropriate licenses and meet eligibility requirements as specified in FDA's contract documents. The tender references clause-47 and conditions notified by the Government of Punjab Finance Department vide notification No.RO (Tech) FDI-2/83 (VI) (P) dated 06.04.2005, and excess rates beyond technically sanctioned estimates shall not be payable.
Bid documents are available from FDA's office in Faisalabad. Sealed bids must be submitted by the closing date as per tender schedule; the date for bid opening will be announced separately. Quantities in the bid schedule are tentative and liable to change. Any ambiguities shall be referred to the Chief Engineer, FDA Faisalabad, whose decision is final and binding. Failure to complete work within the stipulated 12-month period will result in no payment responsibility from the department.
