Description / Scope of Work
The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences at the University of Karachi, situated in Karachi, Sindh, invites sealed tenders from FPADS registered vendors and suppliers for the purchase and import of one Liquid Nitrogen Dewar (Vacuumed Vessel) with a minimum capacity of 240 liters. This procurement is valued above PKR 5.0 million and includes delivery to the consignee's end location with all taxes, duties, levies, and installation charges. The dewar must meet DOT 4L requirements, feature high-strength stainless steel construction (minimum 304 grade), maintain high vacuum insulation specifications of 10^-3 to 10^-5 mbar, and have a normal evaporation rate not exceeding 2 percent per day. The equipment must be equipped with stainless steel wheels and handles for maneuverability, differential pressure-type liquid level gauge, automatic and manual pressure relief valves, and an adjustable regulator for low pressure maintenance at 22 psig or 1.5 bar suitable for liquid nitrogen transfer. A two-year guarantee is mandatory.
Bidders must be registered with the Sindh Revenue Board and income tax authorities and registered through the FPADS system. The tender employs a National Competitive Bidding Single Stage One Envelope Procedure as per SPP Rules 2010 (updated 2013). Bid security equivalent to 2 percent of the bid value must be submitted in the form of a Pay Order in favor of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences Tender Account at United Bank Limited Account No. 291497301. A non-refundable tender fee of PKR 1,000 must be deposited in the same account with the original deposit receipt submitted with the bid. All bids must be duly signed and stamped with supporting documents; alternate bid options should accompany separate earnest money.
Bidding documents can be obtained from EPADS portal at www.portalsinsdh.cprocure.gov.pk and the website www.iccbs.edu, with submission required through EPADS by 11:30 a.m. on 21 July 2026. Tender opening will occur on the same date at 12:00 noon through EPADS. Quotations must be provided on both C&F and FOB basis in Pakistani Rupees with foreign currency conversion clearly stated.
