Description / Scope of Work
Karachi Port Trust, Mech & Elect Engineer-II Department, invites bids for major overhauling of a Cummins 6 BT propulsion engine installed onboard vessel GRP-VII. The tender is issued under Tender Reference T3-02/2026 and covers the complete overhaul and restoration of the marine propulsion system to operational standards. The work is to be carried out at the port's M.I. Yard, West Wharf facility in Karachi, Sindh Province. This is a specialized mechanical engineering project requiring demonstrated expertise in marine engine maintenance and propulsion system rehabilitation.
Bidders must possess documented experience in the relevant marine engineering field, specifically with Cummins diesel engines and marine propulsion systems. A bid security of Rs. 68,000 is required, payable as an original Pay Order in favour of the Chief Account Officer, KPT, submitted at the time of bid opening. A scanned copy of the bid security must also be uploaded through the E-PADS system. The bid validity period is 90 days from the date of bid opening. Bids must be submitted electronically only; bids received through any other method will not be accepted.
Interested firms must download complete bidding documents from the E-PADS System Version 2.0 via https://epads.gov.pk. Soft copies of completed bids must be uploaded through E-PADS by 23 September 2026 at 1100 Hours. Bid opening will take place on the same date at 1130 Hours in Room No. 32 of the CM&EE-II Department at Ground Floor of KPT Head Office, Eduljee Dinshaw Road, Karachi, in the presence of bidders' authorized representatives.
