For Bidders: Our Analysis PAKISTANTENDER INSIGHT

This is a recurring annual framework contract for ophthalmic consumables (IOLs and surgical kits) at a mid-sized government hospital, with a modest estimated value of Rs. 1.8 million, meaning per-item order volumes are likely low. Only DRAP/FDA registered manufacturers, sole agents or distributors qualify, narrowing the field to established medical device suppliers rather than general traders. The requirement for original bid security submission by hand before opening, despite e-bidding, is an operational trap smaller firms often miss, risking rejection on a technicality.
Who can bid: Eligible bidders must be manufacturers, sole agents or distributors registered with PPRA E-Procurement System, DRAP and FDA, holding valid NTN/GST registration; firms blacklisted by PPRA or PESSI are barred. Typically ISO-13485 certification and DRAP product registration are also required for medical device supply tenders of this nature.
