Description / Scope of Work
The GE (Maint) DP Railway Road Chaklala, Rawalpindi invites applications for pre-qualification of contractors and firms to undertake multiple categories of maintenance, repair, renovation and supply works across various subdivisions in Rawalpindi, Punjab. Ten separate work packages are on offer, each valued at approximately Rs 4.00 million, covering Building & Repair (B&R) maintenance and renovation at different locations, Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) works, provision of miscellaneous facilities including internal/external services, roads and sewerage systems, supply of bazar materials for B&R, E&M and Furniture & Services items, furniture repair and replacement, and term contracts for both B&R and E&M disciplines. The tender is issued under PPRA Rule 13(1) of 2004 and invites qualified contractors to apply within fifteen days of publication on the PPRA website.
Eligible applicants must be enlisted with MES in Category 'E' or above and registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Contractors not on the MES approved list must furnish a certificate proving their registration with the relevant department. Applicants must submit a statement of financial standing with bank certificates, details of employed staff, information on tools and plants, and comprehensive details of works executed in the last two years and works currently in hand, all duly attested by a Class-I Gazetted Officer. Contractors not borne on the MES approved list or those suspended for non-deposit of enhanced amounts must deposit 2% of the contract value as earnest money in the form of FDR or Call Deposit pledged to GE (Maint) DP Chaklala; this amount is refundable if the contractor is not prequalified or does not secure the contract.
Tender documents will be delivered to prequalified contractors/firms at a later stage. Tender submission deadline is 1130 hours with opening at 1200 hours on dates specified in the Notice of Tenders. Applicants must provide information on all prescribed proforma fields including name of works, amount, duration, commencement and completion dates, and progress percentage for ongoing works. Failure to provide required information or earnest money will result in non-consideration for tender issue. Additional details of work can be obtained from the office of the concerned executive on any working day.
