Description / Scope of Work
Port Qasim Authority invites prequalification applications from eligible entities for the establishment of a Multipurpose Cargo Terminal on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis at Port Qasim, Karachi, Sindh. The selected private party will be responsible for designing, financing, building, operating, maintaining and transferring the terminal to expand the cargo handling capacity of Port Qasim. This is a major infrastructure development project aimed at enhancing Pakistan's maritime trade capabilities through private sector participation under the BOT model.
Prequalification will be evaluated based on applicants' capabilities, competence and resources relevant to port terminal development and operation. Applications must be prepared using the standard formats prescribed in Section 6 of the prequalification document; applications not using these formats will be rejected. Missing information or information written elsewhere will receive no credit and may lead to rejection. Interested entities are encouraged to conduct comprehensive independent assessments of the project and local site conditions prior to submission, with all expenses borne exclusively by the applicant.
