Description / Scope of Work
The District Jail Astor, under the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, invites tenders from registered contractors for the supply of food items and provisions to prisoners and detainees during the financial year 2027-28. This is a recurring supply contract essential for prison operations in Astor, Gilgit-Baltistan. The tender notice is issued under reference NO-S.J-1(2)/2025-26, dated 11 June 2026. Interested contractors must submit sealed tender applications within fifteen days from the date of publication of this notice. The tender will be opened on the specified date at 11:00 AM in the presence of bidders. Tender documents are available from the office of the Superintendent Jail Astor during official working hours. A non-refundable tender fee of four thousand Pakistani rupees must accompany each bid submission.
Only contractors and firms registered with the Government are eligible to participate in this tender. Bidders must submit a call deposit (earnest money) of one hundred thousand Pakistani rupees via State Bank of Pakistan in the name of the Superintendent Jail Astor. The bid security amount of one million Pakistani rupees will be forfeited if the successful contractor fails to supply provisions on time or maintains proper quality standards. All items quoted in the tender must be calculated and listed on a per kilogram basis as per the approved price list maintained by the control committee. Abnormally low or high rates may result in disqualification. Incomplete, conditional, or ambiguous tender documents will be rejected without consideration.
Successful contractors are obligated to maintain strict quality standards and deliver all food items and provisions to the jail premises in excellent condition. In case of defective or substandard items, contractors must bear the cost of replacement and removal. Contractors must ensure continuous and timely supply regardless of payment delays or fund constraints. Failure to meet delivery schedules will result in forfeiture of the security deposit. Bid documents should be submitted to the office of the Superintendent Jail Astor on or before 11:00 AM on 26 June 2026. Rates for LPG gas and other variable items will be adjusted periodically as per the approved price list. The administering authority reserves the right to accept or reject any tender without assigning reasons.
