Description / Scope of Work
Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) invites sealed bids for the supply and delivery of ophthalmic equipment in accordance with this Invitation to Bid (ITB) reference MALC/ITB/June/2026/01 dated 23rd June 2026. The procurement is for ophthalmic equipment required by MALC, a leading non-profit organization established in 1956 that works across leprosy control, tuberculosis, prevention of blindness, mother and child health care, and community-based inclusive development. The organization has evolved as one of the largest non-profit entities in Pakistan with operations across the country. Bidders must possess legal capacity to enter into binding contracts with MALC and shall not have prior legal cases in any court of Pakistan or be subject to applicable sanctions. All bidders found to have conflicts of interest, including prior associations with firms engaged in preparation of specifications for this procurement, shall be disqualified. Eligible goods must originate from countries other than those listed in the Data Sheet, with origin defined as the place of manufacture or substantial assembly resulting in commercially recognized products. Interested bidders must submit bids along with tender fee of PKR 2000 and earnest money equivalent to 2 percent of the total bid value. Bid confirmation using Form A must be returned by courier to MALC Head Office, Mariam Manzil, A.M 21, Off Shahrah-e-Liaquat, P.O Box 8666, Saddar, Karachi no later than 4th July 2026. Bids must include documents establishing eligibility and qualifications, technical bid, price schedule, and bid security as specified in Section 7. Bidders may request clarifications on ITB documents according to procedures outlined in the Data Sheet. The bid submission deadline is set out in Section 3 of the ITB. All prospective suppliers must acknowledge the Supplier Code of Conduct covering labor, human rights, environment and ethical conduct standards.
