Description / Scope of Work
Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation invites sealed bids for replacement of old damaged and contaminated six-inch and four-inch diameter AC pipes with 160mm and 110mm PE water lines across multiple localities in Model Zone, District Korangi. The project encompasses pipeline replacement work in Gilanabad, Madina Colony, Saudia Colony, Pak Kousar Town, and Muzfarabad Khokrapar with an estimated cost of Rs. 3,76,41,334. This procurement is classified as a small contract valued between Rs. 2.5 million and Rs. 50 million, aimed at improving water supply infrastructure in existing areas of the Korangi district. The work includes scarification of road surfaces, dismantling and removal of existing metaling, excavation and trenching, installation of high-density polyethylene PE pipes conforming to ISO-4427 and DIN 8074/8075 standards, provision of sluice valves, and all associated fittings and testing.
Eligible bidders must possess relevant experience in water supply works and must submit a bid security equivalent to five percent of the bid amount through demand draft, pay order, or bank guarantee. A no litigation certificate on Rs. 100 stamp paper duly stamped and signed in original is mandatory before tender opening. The performance security requirement is set at ten percent of the contract value, with additional security deposit provisions reaching a maximum of ten percent including the bid security. Bidders should note that eight percent income tax, one and a half percent water charges, and five percent sales tax will be deducted from bills as per policy, with liquidity damages levied at zero point five percent of estimated cost per day of delay capped at ten percent.
Bid documents can be obtained from the office of the Executive Engineer (Water), Model Colony Town, District Korangi, Malir Kala Board. Sealed bids must be submitted to the Palace of submission at the Chief Engineer (SEW) office, KW&SC, Ground Floor Room 2, Block C, 9th Mile Karsaz Shahrah-e-Faisal Karachi by June 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Bid opening will occur on June 5, 2025 at 2:30 PM in the presence of tenderers or authorized representatives. The time for completion is as specified in the Letter of Contract, with detailed bill of quantities available in the tender documents including specifications for pipeline materials, excavation requirements, valve installations, and all ancillary works.
